Nicolas Poignon

Longing for memory.

From the rooftops of a big city to the rocks of a waterfall, the painter sketches what will later be the indescribable link to an atmosphere, the nostalgia of a place. The motifs of his landscapes seem to recede solemnly into the distance, but their density catches up with us.

A relentless production.

Graduate from École Supérieure d'Arts Graphiques et d'Architecture Intérieure and École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre, Nicolas Poignon is fully qualified in drawing and engraving, an important part of his work.

Nicolas Poignon has won numerous prizes for his drawings and prints. He regularly exhibits in France, Germany and Switzerland. His works form part of museum collections. He lives in Berlin when not immersed in the forest or under a waterfall.

Let the gentle magic of the works take effect on you.

Die Bäume

Because we are like tree trunks in the snow. They seem to lie smoothly on the ground and you should be able to push them away with a little push. No, you can't, because they are firmly attached to the ground. But you see, even that is only apparent.
